Arnold Allen gives perspective on going head-to-head against MVP Netflix card

Arnold Allen said the UFC's May 16 event is not counterprogramming against Most Valuable Promotions' Netflix debut, a distinction relevant to how the matchups are viewed. Allen headlines UFC Fight Night 276 versus Melquizael Costa at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Most Valuable Promotions launches on Netflix with Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano atop a card featuring Francis Ngannou vs Philipe Lins and Nate Diaz vs Mike Perry. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Allen noted the UFC was not aiming to compete on star power. The UFC bout is a featherweight contest, while Costa arrives on a six-fight streak and Allen seeks to rebound from recent losses to elite opposition.
