What do you make of what's going on with Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers?
Baker was offered a two-year contract extension, and it was at 50 reportedly that Jason Licht, the general manager, asked, and he said, "Yeah, no."
And here's a guy that's bet on himself before, George, when he was at Texas Tech and Oklahoma.
You think that's gonna end in a rocky ending there and a bad divorce there in Tampa with Baker Mayfield and the Bucs?
It, it's very similar to what the Cowboys did with Dak, right?
And Jerry cost himself a ton of money 'cause he kept waiting, waiting, and waiting.
Tampa wants to do the same thing.
They want him to prove it.
"Okay, then we'll franchise you next year," which is great.
You'll s- you will save some money here, but it kills your cap, right?
'Cause you can't spread that signing bonus out over five, six years, whatever it might be.
Do I think it's gonna be a divorce eventually?
Yeah, I do, but I don't I think it might be a couple of years, because once again, they could franchise him next year and the year after that.
