Bears Have Built a Strong Support System Around Caleb Williams
The Chicago Bears have finally put all the pieces in place to develop a quarterback, which makes the team a legitimate long-term threat in the NFC.

Nicholas Morano here from Roundtable Sports.
For today's video, we look into a recent article from CBS Sports, The Premise, which team has best set their quarterback for success?
And they did this by going into tiers.
In that first tier, which is labeled the best ecosystems, that's where the Chicago Bears are, along with the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions, and Los Angeles Rams.
Now think about that for a sec.
The best ecosystem in the NFL, and this is just one writer's opinion from CBS Sports, but to even be in that contention is a drastic change from where the Bears were, let's say, at the end of the 2024 NFL season.
That year, the Bears win five games.
Their head coach, Matt Eberflus, was fired.
Their offensive coordinator was fired.
Caleb Williams was sacked a league-high 68 times.
It just goes to show how much things can change in less than two years.
When the Bears hired Ben Johnson, not only did they get the leader of their franchise, but they also paired Caleb Williams with one of the brightest offensive-minded football coaches in the NFL.
What does he do?
He goes and revamps the entire interior offensive line with, of course, the help of general manager Ryan Poles, signing Drew Dalman, trading for Joe Thuney, trading for Jonah Jackson, drafting Ozzy Trapillo.
You bring all these new offensive linemen in.
You sign guys in, in free agency, and that's what they did, obviously, continuing going forward in the 2026 NFL Draft.
They drafted Colston Loveland, Luther Burn III, guys like that, and then obviously there's gonna be change that happens as well.
Drew Dalman retires.
What do you do?
You pivot, and you quickly do so, and you trade for Garrett Bradbury.
You draft Logan Jones, a center out of Iowa.
But then you continue to add on the offense, going with guys like Sam Roush from Stanford, Xavien Thomas, the wide receiver from LSU.
But the Bears kept on building around Caleb Williams in mind, so that regardless of who comes, who goes, who's traded, like DJ Moore, the Bears were gonna still be in a spot that they felt comfortable with to allow Caleb Williams to still do what he needs to do to develop going into his third season, second year with Ben Johnson as his coach and play caller, and that's just a new place for the Bears, to be in a position where they're, can actually develop a quarterback, and that's what I believe can be a scary situation for every other team in the NFL.
The Bears have never really had that.
If they can develop a quarterback and keep him long-term with his coach, the offensive line stable, and the playmakers around him, the Bears are not gonna be an easy out in the NFC and can easily become long-term legitimate contenders in the NFL.
