Bears GM Ryan Poles Doesn't Know if Kyler Gordon Will Play This Season
Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Poles reveals a troubling disconnect regarding Kyler Gordon, casting doubt on his future in Chicago as a lingering injury stalls his return to play.

They're, they're close.
We're doing a really good job with our performance team, getting those guys ramped up, in shape, ready to go, so that when they play, they're, they're ready to make an impact.
And talked to those guys this morning.
They're, they're fired up, to start that clock and get going.
And, and then Kyler is on that list as well.
We'll see when he comes back.
I don't have a timetable.
We'll see how that goes.
And, I do wanna give a shout-out to, our really our return to play protocol folks, really Andre Tucker, Brent Salazar, Pierre.
They've done an unbelievable job.
I don't think I've had a, a moment to talk, since Oz's come back, but there's been plenty of guys that have come back this year that, their hard work along with our players' hard work has allowed them to come back and, and become football players again and, and be able to help our team and help our depth.
And, and they've done a, a fabulous job and, and that group, it's special.
They care a lot, so to see success like that has been, been really good.
So I'll open up to questions for now.
Kyler, are you convinced he's going to play for you?
I don't know.
I would hope so.
I still have hope there.
He's gonna have to continue to, to work hard and, and get back to playing football again.
It feels like there's a disconnect somehow when I ask- Yeah whether you know whether a player can play for you.
Obviously, I don't.
Yeah.
What, what specificity can you give us about what's going on?
Yeah, I really can't.
I think when people come back from injuries, there's different things that happen.
Sometimes they, they return fast, sometimes it's slow, so it's really a timing thing and, and a healing thing and, confidence thing.
So I really don't.
I wish I did, but we'll see.
Is Kyler working- We'll see as we go.

Is Kyler working with your staff here or is he working with, with outside help?
Yeah, he's, he's working with our staff here.
You know, some of these guys, they also have, you know, other people that they work with too.
But yeah, he's working.
Is there a difference between what he's reporting to you guys about his pain and discomfort versus how you all have assessed his injury?
I think Listen, anytime you have an injury, and again I'm not gonna get all into the details of this.
I really, I wish I had more for you all, but anytime you have an injury and you're coming back from something, there's discomfort that you have to push through.
And that's what it comes down to.
So we haven't been able to get over that hump, and we're not progressing as, as, as fast as we would like, so that's really all I have to say about that.
