Ben Johnson's Commitment to the Bears is on Another Level
After transforming Chicago into an offensive powerhouse, the head coach is sacrificing his summer to rebuild a depleted roster and sustain the team's newfound playoff momentum.

The Chicago Bears made a pretty good decision bringing in Ben Johnson to be this team's next head coach at the beginning of last year.
He started out with the Detroit Lions as an assistant in twenty nineteen and eventually worked his way up to offensive coordinator in twenty twenty-two.
His offense with the Bears flourished as they ranked inside the top fifteen in passing yards, rushing yards, and points per game, as they were miles better than they were under former head coach Matt Eberflus just the year before.
The Bears also reached the divisional round and won the NFC North in his first year, things they had not done in the, very much in the last decade or so.
Now he is entering year two, and the Bears are in the midst of their off-season program as they just wrapped up their, their final day of OTAs before minicamp.
Ben Johnson was asked if he has any plans about, for the next six weeks or so as the team gets ready for minicamp and training camp, and, shared that he actually believes that the summer is the best time to get ahead of the upcoming season, which is just the kind of mentality that the Bears need from their head coach.
This is someone who eat, breathes, and sleeps the game of football, and that is exactly the kind of mentality that the Chicago Bears need as they enter year two, as they've-- their roster has had, quite a bit of turnover entering the twenty twenty-six campaign.
Starters from last year's team like Kevin Byard, Jaquan Brisker, D.J.
Moore, Tremaine Edmunds, and Dreu Dalman are no longer around.
Byard and Brisker both departed the team in free agency, and then before then, Dalman announced his, retirement from the NFL after one season with the Bears.
Edmunds was a cap casualty as he was released to free up around fifteen million in cap space, and then Moore was about the same as he was traded to the Buffalo Bills for a second-round pick, and he also gave the team sixteen and a half million more dollars to spend in free agency.
If the Bears want to, even come close to doing what they did in twenty twenty-five this season, they're going to need this kind of commitment from their head coach, Ben Johnson, and it looks like he is already planning on it.
We'll have to see how far the Bears go in twenty twenty-six, but with Johnson already talking like this before minicamp and training camp, it looks like the Bears are going to be in very good hands.
