Big 12 Admits Clock Error Cost Notre Dame a Final Play in 28-24 Loss to BYU

The Big 12 says Notre Dame should have gotten one more snap. Officials ended Saturday's game with one second still on the clock, and No. 8 BYU won 28-24. The Irish needed a touchdown, and CJ Carr's pass to Jade Greathouse fell incomplete in the end zone. Officials then waved the game over and BYU fans stormed the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Early Sunday, the conference said the replay crew wrongly cleared the play, and it promised a full review of its end-of-game process before next week's games. The ruling also comes amid questions about a possible pass interference call against BYU.
