Big 12 college football teams to watch in 2026
With the collegiate football season rapidly approaching, Jay Croucher and Vaughn Dalzell discuss what Big 12 football teams will rack up the most wins, and which teams will suffer major losses in 2026.

Okay, Vaughn, let's talk Big 12 regular season win totals.
Let's talk about the highest win totals in the conference.
That is, of course, led by Texas Tech, who are minus 105 to win the Big 12.
They are set at 10 and a half wins, and then we have a slew of teams set at eight and a half.
We've got BYU, Houston, Kansas State, and Utah all at eight and a half.
Is there any one of those teams where you like the win total, or does someone else stand out to you?
Yeah, the bunch at the top is very tough for this conference, Jay.
I mean, this Texas Tech team obviously is, has the best defense, I would say, in the Big 12.
Offensively, with Swordsby and all that going on this off-season, it's gonna be a little drama there in what happens with them.
But out of this bunch, I would take Utah as the best bet to go over.
Their road games this year are very winnable.
They go to Iowa State, Colorado, Cincy, Arizona, and TCU.
Toughest games at home are Arkansas and BYU.
So this team could absolutely clear 10 wins.
Devin Dampier is back, and they're gonna be favored almost every game.
So at plus 350 odds to win-- to make the College Football Playoff, I think that's probably the best bet for Utah here.
But if you're looking for another over bet, you gotta get onto the board, and it's gonna be ugly.
Oklahoma State, they won one game last year, beat UT more, and then lost 11 straight games.
Their win total's five and a half.
They had a North Texas makeover, hit the transfer portal hard, and in their first six games, they could absolutely be three and three to five and one.
So I like this team to go over, and, you know, we gotta be counteractive here, Jay, and go under on a few teams.
I think Baylor and Iowa State are the best bets.
DJ Lagway transfers from Florida to Baylor.
I am not excited about that move, and they have Iowa State, BYU, Texas Tech, and Houston to end the season with no breaks.
They are a fade.
And Iowa State, one of only two teams in the entire country to have zero returning starters, a new head coach, a total reload, and a tough schedule.
They're under four and a half wins for the people who, like to get grimy and take a team to lose for four or five weeks in a row, Jay.
