The Boston Red Sox Should Remove Interim Tag from Chad Tracy
The Red Sox interim manager has been at the helm of one of the greatest turnarounds in baseball history.

Yeah, absolutely.
And I'm at the point where I think I'm sold on Chad Tracy.
I think he's gonna be the guy for this thing moving forward.
Obviously, he's still operating under that interim tag, but I'm curious where you fall on that because I know obviously you were a big Alex Cora guy, and I still do believe in Alex Cora's ability as a manager.
But I think it's becoming more and more clear that he's a fantastic manager, but maybe wasn't the right manager for this particular group.
I think that's the perfect way of putting it.
I, I very much believe in Alex Cora and whatever his next stop is.
But it, it seemed to, to, to have run its course by the end.
I think the shock, Zach, was not only that they fired Alex Cora but a- also just all that, all the coaches on staff.
And that's where Chad Tracy came in into a really tough situation where they were piecemealing the, the major league coaching staff together, and it obviously took a lot of time.
I, I was always impressed with Chad Tracy and the way he handled himself in post-game pressers, knowing that this is not an ideal situation at all to be jumping into, where y- you're trying to fight back b- already being below 500.
I think it was at seven games at that point.
I think it was, uh- Yeah Alex Cora was 10 and 17, you know, before Chad Tracy took over.
So you're, you're trying to t- you're trying to kind of dig yourself out of this hole.
It's your first time in which you're a big league manager.
You do have veterans on the team that you have to get buy-in from them, and how about the buy-in from Sonny Gray and Willson Contreras?
I mean, those guys have been incredible leaders for this team and, and have been huge, you know, Contreras on the hitting side.
But, Sonny Gray, Chad Tracy's talked about this a lot, just how much he is, you know, talking to the young guys and helping them out there.
And, and I, I think in turn, those young guys are seeing the preparation that Sonny Gray puts in, and, and that's feeding off on them.
So I think it's, it's, it's ultimately become a good mix.
And, and I, yeah, I think for Alex Cora, i- i- what this is showing is it, it probably was the right move to, to, to move on.
And Chad Tracy, I think deserves to be the full-time manager of this team.
I, I think the interim label, they can take off.
I, I have confidence in him and the moves he's making.
Y- but, but and that's kind of, again, having the finger on the pulse of the team, understanding certain guys' tendencies, knowing what's gonna work, and there really has been a lot of Chad Tracy magic recently.
And, again, I think the buy-in is key.
That, that, that, there is real legitimate buy-in now from everybody on this team about the brand of baseball that they're playing.
And listen, it's working out, and so why not?
And so I think he's, he's earned himself an opportunity to be the full-time manager of this team
