Browns Might Want to Avoid This One WR After Latest Development

The Cleveland Browns may want to steer clear of this one particular wide receiver.

Video Transcript

So after watching Carnell Tate's performance at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Browns may want to move in another direction as far as their wide receiver pick in the NFL draft.

The Browns have the sixth overall pick in the draft, and they've been linked to Tate a bunch of times since the end of the season.

Now, Tate might not even fall to the Browns number six, but, you know, now actually considering he ran a 4.54 40-yard dash in Indianapolis, he might slip a little bit here.

And yeah, it'll be a great opportunity for the Browns to pick him up if he gets to number six.

But I'm not so sure the Browns should use a sixth pick on a guy and a receiver who doesn't have that top-end speed.

I know there's been plenty of receivers in the NFL who didn't run blazing 40-yard dash times at the combine and ended up being very, very good receivers.

But there's also guys who were just too slow to ever get any separation in the NFL.

And I'm not saying Tate will be one of those guys, but it's a concern.

So if you're the Browns, remember you have two first-round picks.

You might want to go in a different direction at number six, maybe trade down.

You can do that as well.

Then circle back to a receiver at number 24, where they could take someone maybe like a Denzel Boston, right?

You know, Mekhi Lemon could be available at that spot as well.

I'm not sure Jordan Tyson slips that far, but he's a possibility.

So there are other receivers for the Browns this year's draft class.

It's a very deep class for wide receivers.

They don't have to just go Tate or bust here.

They can get other guys if they need to.

And they could also try to trade for a receiver as well.

There should be some guys available on the trade market this offseason.

I just wonder if they need to pivot away from Tate after what we just saw at the combine
