Browns Will Reevaluate QB Situation After Week 2, Shedeur Sanders Could Start

The Cleveland Browns plan to reevaluate their quarterback situation after Week 2, potentially opening the door for Shedeur Sanders to start in Week 3. Deshaun Watson started the season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 22 passes for 205 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but the offense managed just 272 total yards. OC Todd Monken said Watson gave the team the best chance to move the ball, but a poor showing against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could change the calculus. Sanders previously made his first NFL start against the Las Vegas Raiders and became the first Browns QB since 1995 to win his debut start.
