Bruins' Potential Trade Target Is Now Officially Off The Board

The Bruins can forget about acquiring this defenseman.

Video Transcript

Jeremy Swayman, 45th.

Igor Shesterkin, 47.

Pretty close between the two netminders.

Yeah.

Who do you want between the pipes, Ryan?

I'm gonna go Shesterkin, because there's nothing he could've done this season in front of that Rangers team.

Right?

Yeah.

Like, if you put Igor Shesterkin on ano- on another team, on just like an average team, then he would probably still be one of the best goalies in the NHL.

Mm-hmm.

And, Jeremy Swayman's great as well.

Uh- Yeah but I just think Shesterkin has that upside where we've seen him be the best goalie in the world before.

Yeah, he, he, he has taken bad Rangers teams into the playoffs, and again, there's nothing he could have done this year to get those Rangers in.

I'll play devil's advocate.

I'll say Swayman, and, you know, I liked what he showed this year, in Boston.

It was a bounce-back year for him.

Mm-hmm.

More importantly, I liked him chewing out the bench after getting- Yeah pulled against the Buffalo Sabres- Love it in the playoffs.

That's what I really want out of my goalie, not just a guy who's gonna, you know, stand up there and make the saves, but when the team's playing like crap, he, you know, he's not afraid, afraid to tell them.

So, you know, Swayman's gonna be a big part of the Bruins' success in the future, as he is already now.
