Bryson DeChambeau ran LIV player meeting: Report
Golf Channel's Rex Hoggard reports how Bryson DeChambeau ran a LIV Golf's players meeting this week at Trump National Bedminster, with one player leaving it feeling "cautious optimism" about the league's future.

Look like next year and going forward.
Scott O'Neil did kinda lean into the idea that they will circle back around and double down on the team golf concept, which is how LIV Golf got started.
But this goes back to the conversation I had with Scott just a few months ago at the PGA Championship.
You see a lot of themes that came up during that conversation.
He wanted the right size cost.
Essentially, that's what you're seeing with today's announcement.
It's gonna be ten events instead of fourteen, which was originally planned for this season, five events internationally, five events here in the United States.
He wanted to fit in to golf's ecosystem a little bit better.
So you're looking at those five events in the United States being played the week before a major championship or the Players Championship.
And they also seems like they're trading those massive bonuses that their star players got, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, to go over-- to leave the PGA Tour and go over to LIV Golf for player equity, which is something we've seen on the PGA Tour.
Now, I also spoke with a league source who said a big part of this is the players are getting back some, not all, of their NIL rights, that name, image, and likeness rights.
That certainly would res-resonate with a player like Bryson, who's become a very popular golfer online.
A YouTube golfer is what we talk about a lot.
And there's also the idea that we don't know what the purses are going to be going next year.
If you are going to right-size cost, clearly that's going to be impacted as well.
But the league source told me that they expect those payouts from purses to be similar to what you see on the PGA Tour, at least going forward with the two-tiered model that the PGA Tour is gonna put in play in twenty twenty-eight, and exceed what you see on the DP World Tour.
Then finally, I also spoke with a player who was in the player meeting on Tuesday up in New Jersey, and he pointed out that it was interesting that Bryson was pretty much running the player meeting.
It shows that he's engaged, and it shows that he's very interested in where this product was heading.
And when I asked this player if they're optimistic going forward with this plan, with what Scott O'Neil hopes to do, he thought about it for a minute and he said, "Let's call it cautious optimism."
