Burrow's restructure explained
Kyle Dvorchak explains why the Bengals restructured Joe Burrow's contract, creating roughly $10 million in cap space while helping facilitate the team's trade for Dexter Lawrence.

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had his contract restructured.
This move, a rather procedural move, frees up about $10 million in cap space for the upcoming season.
NFL Network's Ian Rappaport made sure to note that it was specifically, in part at least, to help pay for the Dexter Lawrence trade.
Of course, the Bengals, just before the draft, went out and spent the number 10 overall pick to acquire Dexter Lawrence from the Giants.
He also noted specifically that this actually could have been an even bigger restructure had the Bengals wished.
Basically, and for a lot of players, this is written into their contract that teams are allowed to do this, I don't want to say against their will, but just as a matter of principle, teams can do this.
Converting current year salary to future year bonuses guarantees that money so it's both good for the player and good for at least the short-term cap of the team.
Bengals could have gone even farther, but they just didn't see the need for more than $10 million.
Really a nothing burger in terms of what this means long-term for the Bengals.
I do think it's important to note that it's also not to make any sort of big splash signings.
The Bengals are about as set as a team can get right now in really what is kind of a must-win season for them, given how poorly they have performed basically since that Giants Super Bowl run they went on all those years ago.
For fantasy purposes, not much going on here.
