Canadiens Take Down The Maple Leafs With Another Strong Dobes Performance
The Montreal Canadiens piled on the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight. The Habs won 3-1 to hand out an eight consecutive loss to the Leafs.

Do you think there's a world where the Leafs would consider moving Knies, or is this just kind of trade deadline panic chatter that will eventually blow over?
I don't think they're actively trying to trade Matthew Knies, but I don't doubt Elliot's, sources.
He's the best in the business.
I mean, this is the thing he, Matthew Knies has battled a knee injury for most of the season.
He, his goal totals are down.
He was close to 30 goals last year.
He's got about 16 right now.
He's probably gonna get over 20, but I think that's affected his play during the Olympic break.
He went back to Arizona, had treatment on his knee, but he's just not performing at the level that they expect and that he expects.
Now, I think what you said is correct in terms of, you know, him having no trade protection, and that's something that, you know, Tavares and Riley and obviously the core guys like Nylander and Matthews have.
but they're not looking to trade him.
But you look at the Maple Leafs right now, and what are their crying needs?
A number two center behind Matthews because John Tavares has slowed down to the point that he's probably gonna need to move to the wing, and a number one defenseman because Morgan Rielly needs to be moved down in the lineup, maybe on the second pairing.
It only makes sense if they're getting maybe one or both of those.
You know, Nick Kypreos reported something in regards to Montreal and Toronto, and I looked at Montre-- unless You know, Montreal's not gonna trade any of their core guys, so unless you're getting Demidov or unless you're getting Reinbacher and Michael Hage and a first-round pick, I don't think the, the Maple Leafs are trading inside their division with their archrival.
And the only other thing I could think of is, you know, if they're getting a, a comparably aged center for Matthew Knies, who's, I believe, 23, then they might entertain it.
But I honestly, I don't think it's realistic.
