The Canadiens have a big opportunity in front of them.
Video Transcript
Mike, the Sabres, couple of injuries to consider heading into the series.
No Sam Carrick, no Noah Ostlund for them.
They've been ruled out.
What do you see as the X factor in this series?
Is, do the Sabres have the advantage?
Does Montreal have the advantage?
What's your, what's your take on this?
Ooh, that's a good question, Ryan.
I, I think this is gonna be a, a fairly good matchup, in terms of the style that both teams like to play.
Mon- Montreal's a speedy team, and I think they ran into a Tampa Bay team that tried to slow them down.
I don't know if Buffalo's gonna do the same, because we saw all year, they, they, they like playing that kinda track meet style.
So- Totally you know, we could be seeing, like, similar to what we just saw last night out of Minnesota and Colorado, where we see some high-scoring games, just because there's more opportunities and more odd man rushes.
In terms of the X factor, I'll go back to what Devon said.
I think the crowd and how both teams kinda handle that.
Like, we've seen Buffalo really embrace that home, crowd, that energy.
I don't know if Montreal quite did the same.
at times it felt like Tampa Bay was feeding off playing in the Bell Center as much as Montreal was, and heck, who, who wouldn't feed off that crowd?
I was feeding off it with my game stories even, just because it is a, a magical place to play a playoff game.
But if I had to say X factors, I would say the defense.
You know- Rasmus Dahlin had a hell of a series in round one.
You know, on the other end, we saw what Lane Hutson can do.
You know, he scored a huge goal in overtime on a, he said it was his first slap shot he'd ever taken in the NHL.
I know I- that's not true, but kinda feels that way.
But Lane Hutson definitely had a coming out party to an extent in the first round.
I think this guy's just as talented as Cale Makar and Quinn Hughes, and we saw what those guys did last night.
If Lane Hutson can kinda drive things, and if Rasmus Dahlin can also drive the offense, then we could be seeing kind of a mano a mano between two guys who eventually are gonna win a Norris Trophy.
