No.

Hard no.

I don't even think that's a question.

I think you cannot have your leader being a guy who clearly does not wanna be part of or out of that organization.

I don't need to go down this rabbit hole, but I'm a fan of Dylan Larkin, think he deserves a new opportunity, think he's gonna be great, as a number one A or B center on a Cup contending team.

But I think if you can't make a move and he's gonna return and be in the lineup game one, I don't think the C should be anywhere near his jersey.

Hey, Drew, if you're on that team, you know, what would the reaction be like if Dylan Larkin, you know he's just requested a trade, didn't get traded, comes into camp, he's got the C on it.

Would you be like, "Come on, man, you know, you're, you're not the leader anymore"?

Yeah.

And I don't think, by the way, I think if you ask Dylan Larkin, like, "If you are gonna be in the lineup game one, do you want the C on?"

I'm sure he would probably say no, right?

Yeah.

I think that, I mean, I think that whether It just puts him in an awkward spot.

I mean, he's gonna be in an awkward spot a little bit regardless just going back in the locker room, but I think the C just adds to that.

So, I don't think that Detroit or Dylan Larkin, that would be in their best interests.

All right, Mike, what do you think?

Should they tear off that C or just l- You know, is, is this like a, you know, Beverly Hills Cop, he's gotta turn in his badge and gun on day one?

The only way that Dylan Larkin should be wearing the C is if he rescinds the trade request.

If he publicly says, "I'm now rescinding it, I wanna stay in Detroit."

Otherwise, you've, you've undercut your authority with that team because you're saying, "I want the hell out of Dodge."

So if that's the case, you, you know, before training camp, you say, "He is no longer the captain, or we're not naming a captain."

And then after he's traded, then maybe Moritz Seider or Lucas Raymond are the captain.

But if he says, "I still wanna be traded," then you have no business being the team captain of the Detroit Red Wings.

I think that's like telling your girlfriend or boyfriend you wanna break up with them and then you've gotta, you go, you hang out a couple times and it's okay again, and then you, like, rescind it.

To me, the damage is done there no matter what happens.

I think the C's gotta be gone.

Yeah, but the girlfriend just, you know, the mom's out of the picture.

Like, no, no more Steve Yzerman.

Maybe that was the problem.

That's hard.

That is true.

That is true.

Actually, I d- that's a good dynamic to add.

So I mean, I guess, yeah, , yeah, I don't know how it's gonna- It wasn't the girlfriend, Drew.

It was the girlfriend's mom.

Hey, I get that.

So you know what?

You guys are right on this.

I'm wrong.

Girlfriend's mom's out of the picture.

I'd welcome the C back on him if he rescinds it
