A lot of these games were close.
It's not like there were, there were too many blowouts.
What was it that you guys lacked in comparison to them in this series?
Well, I thought we had some guys tired.
We, we, we squeezed as much juice from this team.
I mean, I, I can't ask for more.
I mean, we hung in there.
It's a good hockey team over there.
They roll four lines, they're flying.
We got You know, I'm not gonna get into it now.
We got some guys banged up, broken ribs, and all that sort of stuff, so I can't I mean, they, they gave it all.
You know, obviously we'd like a little more possession and there's some things that we c- wish were done, but you know, we had some We ran some guys pretty, you know, to the ground a little bit and they, they tried tonight.
Y- y- you look at your lineup, obviously there, there's so many guys 20, 21, 22 years old.
Yeah.
You know, Danny has said, said for years that he values playoff experience, getting these guys into, into playoff experience.
What, what do you want them to take away from not just this series, but I guess the, the eight games as a whole?
Well, be You know, what it's gonna take, you know, to, to get to where we wanna go, and that, get that taste.
Perfect example is Bumper.
You know, he makes some mistake on the second goal, he gets the goal.
Tying goal.
Like, he gets right back out there.
That's the stuff you wanna see.
You know, he's not on the bench sulking.
He, he knew he made the mistake.
He goes out there, bang, it's in the net.
Like, that's the, that's the growth you like to see.
and you know, him taking the information and then just rising to the moment.
So I just use that as an example for these young guys.
This is your first year with this team- Yeah obviously, and you've taken them farther than they've gone in years.
What, h- what are some of the biggest things that you've learned about this group as, as a whole, seeing them go this far?
Well, how close they are, how resilient, how they're willing to be coached.
and it was just fun to see.
Like, you know, I've been back here 25 years, just being involved with the Fly- back with the Flyers again, and how, you know, people started to kind of w- like, like, kind of grow with the team.
and then they cheer at the end.
So that's my biggest take, like how It, it remind me back in the day when I played.
You know, where the crowd was into it and, you know, the, the Flyer fans.
I, I, I That's what I'm most proud about, how they helped us as a, as a year.
But we had to help them, too.
I mean, they haven't really had a lot to cheer for, so I think there was some Gotta give the players a lot of credit this year.
They gave them a lot.
You know, there's a lot of, you know, there's some fun games.
You know, I thought we played some fun games.
There was some bad games, but we bounced back.
So I, I would say resiliency and the, you know, and them hearing the fans.
I think, I think that goes a long way for them this summer.
I really do.
