Cardinals Name Gardner Minshew Starter, Drop Jacoby Brissett to Third String

Arizona head coach Mike LaFleur named Gardner Minshew his starting quarterback Monday. He moved rookie Carson Beck up to backup and dropped Jacoby Brissett to third string. Minshew came on for a struggling Brissett against Dallas, completed 73.9% of his passes and threw three touchdowns as the Cardinals came back from 27-17 down late to win 33-30 in overtime and improve to 3-5. Brissett had started for most of the last two seasons, and LaFleur wouldn't commit to his role beyond this week. Minshew makes his first Cardinals start next Sunday against Seattle.
