The Cardinals signed Dustin May in the off-season.
They certainly got a lot out of him.
I cannot imagine that he makes the start, Monday against the New York Yankees.
I would imagine that he is dealt because he's on a one-year deal too.
It doesn't make any sense for the Cardinals to keep him, and the Cardinals talk about cratering their playoff odds.
They have fallen less than 5%, on FanGraphs right now.
So they appear on the outside looking in, but great, you know, three-quarter of a season for them.
I, I can't blame them at all for their year.
McGreevy, Polante, I, I would think both of these guys could be on the move too.
Heim Bloom, I think, is gonna take a look at this and try and dismantle as much as he can heading into next year.
And for the Yankees, there's gonna be no advantages here to betting these games.
I mean, they're gonna be minus 160, minus 170, maybe even minus 200 by the time Monday comes if the Cardinals end up trading May.
But he would be one of those pitchers, right, Tom, to, to get moved?
No reason to hang on to him.
No, I would say that it's a great option for a team maybe like the Diamondbacks or the Padres.
They need pitching help.
You know, someone just to give you a, a third starter in a rotation.
But this series looks like it's gonna be just Yankees top to bottom, especially if the Cardinals do make moves.
And to your point, it really has been a good season for the Cardinals.
They, they've exceeded our expectations.
I know that.
And, you know, getting Weatherholt up and then getting him extended is great to see.
Seeing Jordan Walker finally find his footing in the MLB is good.
You know, I think Alec Burleson is solid.
Like, they have some pieces that they wanna build around and can build around, but it really just comes down to that starting pitching staff because I do not think it's good.
You do not think it's good.
They have pitchers that are vastly overperforming.
So getting pitching prospects back and then fixing that going into next season, I think would put them in contention for, truly in contention for the NL wild card next year
