Carlos Prates reveals ideal retirement age
Brazilian welterweight Carlos Prates said he aims to retire around age 35–36 due to accumulated damage, a notable stance given his active climb in the UFC. In an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Carlos Prates detailed daily pain in his feet, back, and neck, and said he needs 20 minutes after waking to move normally. The UFC contender added he could extend his career if a lucrative purse is offered, while targeting an exit before 40. He cites nearly 140 combined bouts, a 24-7 record, and seven UFC finishes, and is coming off a finish of former champ Jack Della Maddalena.
