Carson Loftin Reacts After Scoring Long-Awaited First CARS Tour Victory
Carson Loftin prevailed after a crazy run to the finish to score his first CARS Tour victory at Anderson Motor Speedway.

It's been a long time coming for Carson Lofton, but finally you're in CARS Tour Victory Lane, and I don't even know how to describe the finish of this one, so I'm gonna let you explain it.
How did you get the job done tonight?
You know, we qualified on the pole and led the first, I guess, 70 or 80 laps, and, I don't know what happened on the restart.
I was the leader, and somehow I jumped the start in the box, but, you know, I knew I had my work cut out for it.
I still feel like we had the best car, and, 22 got by us, 09, 44 got by us.
And I worked my right rear too much trying to get to them.
And, 22 actually pulled away.
He was gone, and, 44 was too.
Me and the 44 were racing for a second, and I guess the 22 had a flat right front or a flat left front.
Something happened there at the end.
And, you know, the, the one corner we got to him was the last one, so I knew I had to take advantage of that.
And, the 44 went to the top, and I just had to send it on the bottom and, and hope for the best, and, it worked out.
So just super thankful for these Mike Dorn Racing guys.
They've, gave me a really good car everywhere we've been.
And just thankful for him for believing in me.
And, you know, a lot of people's, you know, lost belief in me in these late model cars.
And, you know, gave me a shot, and we've had fast race cars everywhere, just haven't had results.
So this one means a lot.
We're gonna celebrate this one, and I have a lot of confidence moving forward.
You won a lot of modified races in a short period of time.
Late model stock car racing has not been as kind to you as modified racing was.
Changed teams from Nelson to Mike Dorn.
Walk me through everything that went into this win for you, and did you think that this would happen as soon as it did after changing teams?
After our first race together at, at Dominion, we qualified seven, or yeah, qualified seventh and was running fifth when I had a flat right front, and I knew right then, you know, me and Mike worked really well together.
So, you know, this series is so, so tough and it, you know, coming from, you know, where I was winning the modified stuff, coming here and, and not winning races and, and struggling, it was hard, man.
It, I, just, you know, it took a toll on me mentally and, you know, I didn't have much confidence in myself, but having Mike belief in me and, you know, kind of showing me my weaknesses and what I need to work on and, and use, utilizing my strengths meant a lot, and, you know, that's why we're here tonight.
So just thankful for him.

So you explained- I wouldn't do a thing different.

Appreciate it you explained that you lost a little bit of confidence in yourself.
When you lose the lead there the way that you did, are you thinking, "Oh man, here's another one that I'm not gonna win"?
You know, Mike was pretty frustrated, and I was too, but I had to keep my composure 'cause I knew I had no shot to win the race if, if I, you know, let, let it get the best of me.
So, I took a deep breath and I still felt like we had the best car at the time, and I hurt the right rear too much there and, you know, we got lucky there at the end with the 22 having an issue, and, you know, I had to send it in there and hope for the best, and it worked out.
So, you know, thankful for the Lord above for, for, you know, keeping me safe and, and giving me this opportunity and just, super thankful.
First of many or what?
