Charles Oliveira eyes spot as backup for UFC White House main event

Two weeks after Charles Oliveira’s BMF belt win over Max Holloway at UFC 326, Chute Boxe head coach Diego Lima outlined the lightweight’s immediate options and addressed criticism of the victory. Lima said Oliveira has offered to serve as a reserve for the UFC White House main event and remains focused on the belt. He noted possible fights with the Topuria vs. Gaethje winner or a super fight if the champion’s return is delayed. Lima downplayed a Conor McGregor bout as a priority. He also defended Oliveira’s grappling approach, citing comparative dominance metrics from recent title fights. Lima spoke with Sherdog.com after Oliveira’s postfight travel and seminars.
