So I get it, at one time there was a different name, but moving the Bears out of Chicago into Hammond.
I saw George McCaskey yesterday during the broadcast, during the exhibition game, and he was talking, "Look, you see the skyline of Chicago in the background from a golf course in Hammond, Indiana."
Do you believe the commissioner of the National Football League, Jason Cole, will allow the Chicago Bears, that'd be like moving the Green Bay Packers to Toronto, Canada, to move them out of the city of Chicago?
Well, he kind of doesn't have a whole lot of say about it, does he?
You go where the money is and where the stadium is, and where somebody's gonna support you, and Indiana's gonna do it.
Now, I think it's a shame, but I do think this is ultimately a leverage play to get whatever they want out of Chicago and to get the deal out of Chicago that they need to have.
So, I, I still think there's more to play out here.
But yeah, I could see them going to Hammond, Indiana.
I could see them going to a, a brand new place.
It's not that far away.
Look, the Giants and the Jets play in New Jersey, and people got over that a long time ago, right?
I Yeah, it's against tradition, but I've also been to, you know, I, I've been to their home stadium.
It's terrible.
It's absolute- Soldier Field is terrible.
I know that there's, you know, some semblance of the old structure there, but that, you know, sort of, you know, spaceship that they put around it made it look awful, and the sidelines are awful.
I mean, it's just, it's not comfortable.
It's not convenient.
The parking is awful.
Everything about Soldier Field is a bad situation.
So they gotta solve it.
How they choose to solve it, it would be a shame if they weren't in Chicago.
You know?
If they're, i- if all of a sudden they were the Decatur Staleys again or the Hammond Staleys or whatever they wanna be called.
But this is about money, and money moves the needle.
If you can-- I guess if you can move, the Chiefs out of Kansas City and out of Arrowhead, you can move the- Yeah Chicago Bears to Hammond, Indiana, right?
All right.
So- Well, yeah, but the Chiefs haven't really ch- the Arrowhead's not even in Kansas City that much, but that's a different discussion.
So there you go
