Chiefs Defense Dominates From Day One Under Steve Spagnuolo

A longtime Giants fan looks back at Steve Spagnuolo's 2007 New York defense, which gave up a pile of points in its first two games before it settled in. He explains why he expected a similar adjustment period from a Chiefs unit full of new players. Instead, Kansas City dominated from day one. He highlights defensive back Noel Williams, rookie Mansoor Delane (whose first play was an interception) and young linemen Peter Woods, Ashton Gelati and Felix Anudike. He also points to repeated three-and-outs against the Chargers, including a stop when the Chargers had first and goal at the 1.
