Will the Cincinnati Bengals look to replace Jalen Davis before the 2026 season?

Last but not least, I think the starting job that is the most up for grabs right now is still at nickel cornerback.
Jalen Davis is leading that battle after he started the remaining, you know, six games last year.
He re-signed with the team in February, and the team has loved him ever since acquiring him on the practice squad all the way back at the beginning of the decade.
He's lasted with the team this long just because they love what he's about, they love his mental makeup, and whenever he's on the field, he does end up making some plays.
But Davis has also been a practice squad guy and a backup for the majority of his career for a reason.
They've always had a more proven starter ahead of him, whether it's Mike Hilton or, you know, last year it was Dax Hill for most of the year, who they drafted in the first round, and he played that position in college.
The Bengals don't really have a real investment there, and they signed Jasir Taylor in the off-season, along with Kyle Dugger.
Both of them have experience in the slot, and they can push Davis for snaps, or that can be, you know, a, a position that just gets rotated in and out during the season.
But if a more promising option becomes available, and maybe he already is available in Kenny Moore, who was recently released by the Indianapolis Colts, but he's a little bit maybe on the pricier side.
Cincinnati values the cornerback position very dearly, and they just have a lot of guys at the nickel position without someone that they probably feel really, really confident in starting.
I think they like Davis as the starter for now, but, you know, if the season gets out of hand and there's a lot of inconsistency with him, and Jasir Taylor's not that guy, I think that they would feel a little bit of regret of not adding another player into the mix in the off-season.
