Commanders get ‘stud’ Styles at No. 7

There was a lot of speculation that the Commanders would take a receiver with the seventh pick in the draft.
There was some thought that maybe they would try to move up a little bit to get the guy they wanted.
They stayed where they were, and they got a linebacker, Sonny Stiles, another Ohio State player.
We've seen Carnell Tate, we've seen Aurel Reese, and now we've seen Sonny Stiles come off the board in the first seven picks.
This guy is regarded to be a massive stud, a guy who can become the heart and soul of the defense at a time when they could use a little help offensively.
Two phases of the game, three phases technically, but they need a defense that is premised on young star talent.
Too many older players that they've used the past couple of years to try to patch things together.
All due respect to Bobby Wagner, and he's been great, but it's time for them to turn the page, and they're turning in a big way with Ohio State linebacker Sonny Stiles, who could end up being a superstar and who becomes the most significant Sonny in Washington since the late Sonny Jurgensen.
