Overall, we, we knew that the Mangiapane trade was coming.
Don't know that we, necessarily expected it to look like this.
So what are your thoughts overall on this deal?
Do you think it was an overpay by the Oilers?
The hits just keep on coming with Stan Bowman.
honestly, this is, this is a baffling trade.
I mean, the Connor Murphy deal I thought was an overpay because Connor Murphy is sort of a limited right shot defenseman.
He's not terrible, but, you know, I, I thought it was a half measure based on like who they were rumored to be going out and looking at in terms of defense.
And in this instance, they really paid through the nose to get rid of Mangiapane.
He's a $3.6 million cap hit for next season.
They put him on waivers.
So the most that they could do is bury a little over a million dollars and they paid a first round pick.
They don't have a 2026 first.
Now they don't have a 2027 first.
I think they're basically saying, well, we've got to win in the next couple of years.
Otherwise Connor McDavid is going to leave.
In my personal opinion, he's going to leave.
So they've got to do whatever they can over the next couple of years.
And Dickinson is a solid bottom six guy.
He's a veteran guy.
Colton Dock, I don't think much of him as a prospect, but giving up their first round pick for that kind of return, just to get rid of Mangiapane.
I mean, just talk about mismanagement that, that, that there's two, two words, Stan Bowman.
