Could There Be a New Wrinkle to Seattle Mariners Pitching Plans?
The assumption has been that Luis Castillo is the Mariners pitcher that ultimately belongs in the bullpen, but is there actually something else at play?

I don't think that they want to trade somebody.
Now, I've said before that I would listen on Luis Castillo.
At least I said that a couple weeks ago when the situation was a little different.
I don't think the Mariners want to trade Luis Castillo.
I don't think they want to trade Emerson Hancock or Bryce Miller or George Kirby or Logan Gilbert or Brian Wu.
I don't think they want to trade any of those guys.
So I think they are protecting against injury.
And I hope that if they kick this can down the road, let's say they kick this until August 1st.
And on August 1st, everybody is still healthy.
And the Mariners have piggybacked their way through most of July.
I would hope the Mariners can go to Luis Castillo or Emerson Hancock, whoever it is, and say, we did this for the first five months of the season.
We did that for you.
The last two months of the season are for us.
The last two months of the season are for our team and our team goals.
