Smith, a former first-round pick for the Cowboys, has now been released by the Jets.

Well, you know, I, I When I showed up, I was like, "Okay, you know, I think this defense is..." I- by all accounts, it seems like it should be better.
But then I was like, "Oh, wait, this defense is This defense might be good."
Like, "This defense might be- Yeah Is this a top 10 defense?"
You know?
By the time we get through the balance of the 2026 season, you know, I think Christian Parker, seeing what he's doing, as they move to that 3-4, but it, it'll be really inter- You know, it's all about now post-snap.
He's been able to make it, multiple but understandable for the players.
They can actually communicate.
They're not confusing each other in the multiplicity, which is, which is a great sign.
But then when you look at the overall talent, you know, Quinnen Williams, obviously Kennan Clark, Demarvion Overshown, you know, being back in the mix again, Rashan Gary, Caleb Downs, who Caleb Downs is gonna be so much fun because I, I think you're going to see Christian Parker is going to challenge offenses.
Figure out what he is snap to snap.
Like, there's not gonna be consistent.
We're gonna, we're gonna have him doing all kinds of different things, so you need to figure out and diagnose what that is after the snap.
So I think the defense to me looked like it could potentially, by the end of the season, not just be better, but be really, really good.
And, and maybe even as much as we talk about the offense, maybe the defense is the difference between- Yeah this being a, you know, 10-win team or a 12-win team or a 13-win
