Cubs Swing Big In This Projected Mock Trade
With 12 pitchers sidelined, Chicago targets a blockbuster deal with Boston to land a few veterans.

What is up Cubs fans, and welcome back to Cubs Roundtable.
I'm Joey Polizzi talking about all things Cubs.
And the Cubs are going to be very active at this year's trade deadline.
It is important for the Cubs to get some pitching help.
They need some rotation arms, that top of the line starting pitcher, and they need multiple high-leverage relievers.
With 12 different pitchers currently on the injured list, it is imperative for the Cubs front office to go out and get some pitching help.
Well, the Cubs can kill two birds with one stone by trading with the Boston Red Sox.
The Red Sox have Sonny Gray and Aroldis Chapman.
Two needs for the Cubs, starting pitching and relief pitching.
Cubs can go trade with the Red Sox, go get Sonny Gray, who has pitched really, really well this season, and go trade for Chapman, who has been one of the best closers in baseball over the last few years.
So the Cubs could go out, go get a starting pitcher, go get a relief pitcher with one team.
And it's gonna cost the Cubs some because you're gonna get two different players who are quality players at their positions.
And TJ Stats actually did a mock trade with the Cubs and Red Sox saying the Cubs received Chapman and Sonny Gray, and in return the Red Sox received Pedro Ramirez, Brooks Capel, and Jordan Wicks.
And if you're the Cubs, I think this is a deal that you should be doing, of course, if the Red Sox are on board with it.
But this is a deal I think could make a lot of sense for the Cubs.
We look at Pedro Ramirez.
Yeah, he's shown some good things in his young career in the majors so far, .250 batting average so far, but there's really nowhere for him to play over the next few years.
Dansby Swanson, Nico Hoerner, and Alex Bregman are all currently locked up through the 2029 season, so there's just nowhere for Pedro Ramirez to play consistently over the next few years.
With Wicks, he could use a change of s- scenery.
He hasn't looked great this year in the majors or the minors.
And with Capel, it, it would be a bigger loss to lose Brooks because he is the Cubs number two pitching prospect and the Cubs already don't have a lot of valuable pitching prospects in the minors as it is right now.
But in return, you're getting a top of the line starting pitcher in Gray and a top closer in Chapman.
These two pitchers instantly give your team a better chance to make a deep postseason run.
