Are Dolphins fans in a 'can't lose' situation?
Dan Le Batard and the Shipping Container explain why Miami fans are in a "can't lose" situation: either the team is as bad as expected and has a shot at the top draft pick, or the Dolphins sneak in a few extra wins.

I'm on record saying the Dolphins are gonna be better than expected, which is a low bar, but I think they will be.
I- It's a rhetorical trick by you, frankly.
I, I think, I think Well, ding me then.
I think that if you're a Dolphin fan, you, you can't lose in, in this season.
All you're gonna do is lose.
I know, but you, here's what I mean.
If you're a Dolphin fan, you can't lose.
If you're as bad as people say, only favored in one of 17 games, then you're gonna get the number one draft pick.
Or even if you get the number two or number three draft pick, you're gonna be able to draft your franchise quarterback, or the person you hope.
But if you're an optimist, you're allowed to think, "You know what?
We got a pretty good quarterback.
We have one of the best running backs in the game.
We have three great offensive linemen.
We have a defense- Three great that's better than average," except for cornerback and possibly safety.
So I think they're gonna be, you know, I th- I think you can root for the number one draft pick, and you can also root for better than expected.
So I don't think it's a totally lost season if you're a Dolphin fan.
So the secondary's not good.
You don't have to worry about them.
But the other two levels of the defense, you can, you know, fixate on them.
Very much so, yeah.
And then three of the offensive linemen are good, but- He said three are great, which mean you're putting Kaden Proctor already in great?
I, I think he's going to be great.
I don't know if he will be as a rookie.
And, and also, I think the, the coach and the GM, the new regime, had a good off-season.
I do, overall.
Just, uh- And I, that's a consensus of opinion fo- for the record though, that consensus of opinion that you speak of and many of the things that you just said flatly or so, we have not seen them do anything on a football field for the Dolphins.
Like, some of th- like, the regime that you like, I've got no proof yet- Of course on- It's the off-season on, on much Well, but you say, of course, it's the off-season, but you just told me Proctor's gonna be great.
And okay, like if, y- your proof is?
Okay.
Well, the, look, there's a reason he was drafted before Reuben Bain.
There's a Reub- there's a reason half of the league passed on Reuben Bain.
I'm not saying Reuben Bain's not gonna be a great player.
And, and I'm looking forward to seeing Carson Beck play Thursday night in the Hall of Fame Game.
Reuben Bain may be great, but you know, y- you can't say right now that he's gonna be great any more than you can say Kaden Proctor's not gonna be great or is gonna be great.
Let's see.
