Video Transcript

We're gonna go right back to Atlanta 'cause the winner of our club dub, that's the player of the game, Jordan Canada standing by.

Listen, three starters had at least 20 points.

Jordan's one of them.

First of all, tell me what the plan was coming into this game and what allowed you guys to flow so well offensively against Toronto?

Yeah.

We know when we push it in transition, that's when we're at our best, so as long as we can get stops on the defensive end, and then just try to push as much as we can.

We know we can get open looks, and also if we set good screens, we know we can get anything we want, so that's what we try to do throughout the game, and I think we did a pretty good job.

Hey, Jordan, it's Sue.

Congrats on the win.

Thank you.

This is a team you've talked about.

You guys have had moments within a game where you kinda lose it a little bit.

You have some lulls.

But I feel like today, you had the big lead, they came back, cut it to around six or eight points, and you guys responded.

So what do you think is changing for your mindset in those moments as a team?

The Washington loss, we talked about just having a, a different shift in mentality, and coming out, being ready to go, and knowing that we need to have a complete 40-minute game.

And so we knew that at halftime, yeah, we had a lead, but the first five minutes was gonna be really important for us.

And so, coach just talks about second half surge, and the first five minutes have to be really good.

And so I think we came out with that energy and, you know, it caused them to call a time out within, like, the first three minutes, and that's what we wanted.

And so we just tried to keep that momentum.

Jordan, this is Cheryl.

A quick question.

We know what your, your, your big three, big four are gonna bring to the game, but talk about Bree Jones and what you would like to see those remaining 12 games.

Yeah.

I know Bree's still finding her feet, but she's still a key, a key player for us.

She's really huge.

When she comes in, we know we can go to her and depend on her for a lot with rebounding, screening, scoring.

So we just want her to get in a rhythm and not to put too much pressure on her, but understand that we wanna get her in, in a flow.

And so she's been doing a really good job doing little things, and I think tonight, you know, she did a really good job of screening, rebounding, finding herself, getting wide open layups.

And so we just wanna keep feeding her and, and keep giving her that confidence.

Hey, Jordan.

Sue again.

Yes.

You know, you guys all played well.

You had three starters with 20 points, but Ryann at one point just went off and hit a bunch of threes.

I know you've talked about before playing with someone like her, playing with Alicia as a playmaker, getting them involved.

So tonight, when you see her going off like that, how are you approaching that moment?

How are you trying to get her the ball more?

Yeah.

I try to find Ry in transition as much as I can, and then when she's hot, just trying to feed her as much as possible, knowing where she's at at all times, what plays to call for her so she can get wide open threes.

Or even in transition, if I don't have the advantage, trying to give it to her so she can c- attack space.

So whenever she's hot or I wanna get her going, just finding, the little things, whether it's, again, transition or just calling certain plays that I know that's gonna get her open and being able to attack downhill or, shoot a catch and, catch and shoot three.

Jordan, then help me out with Ryann.

Tell her that she is a beast.

I mean, seriously, she can, she can get any shot- She- anytime- She knows that on the floor.

Come on.

She, she knows that, but you know, again, like, we just gotta keep, we just, we just gotta keep telling her that.

But she, she knows deep down.

I think at one point, when Marita shot a three, she came back down and, and she tried to attack her and she got a foul.

So Ryann knows who she is.

But yeah, we just gotta keep letting her know that she's, she's the one.

She's that girl.

Mm-hmm.

She's that girl.

We were actually wondering, we wore the goggles, the, the Alicia Gray goggles here in the studio.

You didn't wear them in the game.

We, we really thought everyone was gonna just come out and put them on.

What happened?

Nah, that, that, that's Alicia's thing.

I tried to- I tried to warm up with them, and I was bricking left and right.

So I was like, "Lice, this..." Yeah, I think it's the perception thing.

I was like, "Lice, that, this is just for you."

Mm-hmm.

But, you know, we still, we, we still wanna support.

I did wear them while I was warming up, and I'm gonna wear them right now.

Okay.

There you go.

As you can see.

There you go.

If y'all need, yeah, Alicia's goggles.

Oh, we got them too.

They're at retail.

Look, we can dress like you.

Okay.

Go ahead.

Lens, looking fly.

You know, go get them.

Mm-hmm.

But yeah, I, I couldn't wear them tonight.

That's Alicia's thing.

Okay, 'cause what we're not gonna do is, skip on buckets for some goggles.

Oh, no, no, no, no, no.

So we appreciate you making the decision to go out there and score 20.

Drop them for us right here on Peacock.

You do you.

You do you.

We appreciate you- Jordan Jordan.

Thank you.

Thank you.

For stopping by.

Yeah.

That's Jordan Canada.
