Dusty Baker, Bruce Bochy Lead Eight Hall of Fame Contemporary Era Finalists

The National Baseball Hall of Fame has named eight candidates for its 2027 Contemporary Baseball Era Committee ballot: managers Dusty Baker, Bruce Bochy, Joe Maddon and Lou Piniella, plus executives Sandy Alderson, Brian Sabean, Ted Turner and Bill White. Bochy owns four World Series rings, including the Rangers' 2023 title. Baker took five different clubs to the playoffs and won a title, and Maddon ended the Cubs' championship drought of more than a century. White was the first Black president of a major sports league, and Turner is the only posthumous candidate. A 16-member committee votes, and election takes 75% of the ballots.
