The Eagles still have the draft to look forward to, but with nearly $40 million in cap space remaining, why not swing for a big name?

Which elite pass rusher could the Eagles come away with?
Which elite pass rusher could the Philadelphia Eagles come away with this off-season?
This is RC Nazami with Eagles Roundtable.
Let's get into it.
So for the Philadelphia Eagles this off-season, it has not been particularly kind to them, especially on the defensive side of the football.
They lost three pillars in Reed Blankenship, Nakobe Dean, Jalen Phillips.
So, you know, despite, losing those guys though, it's not a complete failure.
Howie Roseman has been able to maneuver fairly well with some in-house contracts, the-- and signing Reek Wolin is a massive win as well.
So the whole off-season isn't a loss, but there's still work to be done, and a big, task that they have ahead of them is finding somebody to come off of the edge and rush the passer.
Now, the draft is still coming up, and it's a very, defense, you know, driven draft.
but the Eagles still have thirty-three million dollars to play with and a lot of draft assets at their disposal.
So could they look to trade for that next guy at the edge?
we're gonna talk about three guys that sort of range from very realistic for Philly to pull off to not realistic at all, but they have been mentioned with all three of these names.
Now, let's start with, Jonathan Greenard, and he's coming out of Minnesota.
it was reported by The Athletic's Alec Lewis that, the Eagles stand out as a team that's interested for him.
in his time in Minnesota, he's recorded ninety-seven total tackles, fifteen sacks, and six passes defended.
so he-- And that's just over two seasons with the, with the Vikings.
So he would be an excellent piece, for the Eagles to bring in at edge, and he, he comes in at a fairly reasonable price too.
It, it's reported just a day two pick, so that really seems like a no-brainer.
Now, the next name is sort of interesting and, and that's gonna be Max Crosby.
And this is, you know, earlier in the off-season, they were reported to be keeping tabs on Crosby, the Eagles that is, prior to his trade to Baltimore falling apart now.
But Crosby is one of the more elite edges in the entire league, and if the Eagles can get him, they absolutely should, regardless of what, you know, the physical looked like.
I doubt the price is going to be as high, seeing as, you know, Baltimore had sent him back to Las Vegas.
But it'll be interesting to see if conversations continue around Crosby for Philadelphia.
Now, the most unlikely name on the list, but it's at least worth bringing up given today's news, is, you know, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Myles Garrett.
the Eagles have been interested in him since last season.
it was reported that Roseman actually offered the Browns a whopping three first-round picks.
they weren't interested last season before Roseman offered the three picks, and the interest r-- level rose at least to a conversation, and eventually they, they went after Jalen Phillips and got the deal done.
But, you know, Myles Garrett, Defensive Player of the Year, just broke the single-season sack record in the NFL.
So he's, you know, about as all world as it gets at the position.
just today, his contract was modified to create some more cap space, flexibility for Cleveland, and it led some to believe that that could be an open door for an eventual trade.
But the Browns shortly came out after, said they didn't plan on trading the superstar.
But who knows?
Maybe Howie Roseman is able to come in with another world beater deal and, at least, you know, get, get them to the table to have a conversation about it.
R-regardless, an edge does need to be found for Philadelphia, and it'll be interesting to see who that ends up being.
