Let's get over to the NFL draft and the betting markets there.
Fernando Mendoza, of course, going number one is pretty much a formality.
The number two pick for the Jets is where the action is and where things are a little bit interesting.
Market is telling us something.
David Bailey out of Texas Tech and Arvelle Reese out of Ohio State are dead even a piece.
I personally think David Bailey is a better player.
two totally different bets on what the Jets think that they need.
And then you've got Sonny Stiles sitting way out there at twenty-five to one.
What are we doing with these prices?
Yeah.
well, let's talk about the movement.
you know, Reese really kind of got into healthy favoritism for this pick.
you know, as, as late as like Thursday last week, I think he was in the minus three hundred range.
That never really checked out to me because the Jets were pretty cagey about what ultimately they were intending to do with this pick, and, I think they were also really aggressively trying to q-- get anyone, to show interest in trading up to this spot to try to accumulate future draft capital 'cause if you look at the Jets roster, Drissa, they need everything.
So the idea of just swinging on like high ceiling, you know, defensive prospects is not a luxury for them.
They would like to accumulate picks.
Now, every Italian evaluator that I've heard from has the same opinion as you, which is Bailey is number one, num-- right now a better player for contributing on the field, and number two, the safer bet.
And so, if the Jets don't find a trade partner for that second overall pick, I do think they will likely pick Bailey.
and I think minus one fifteen is probably gonna look more like minus two fifty once we get to draft day, although again, they are going to be open for business until the death.
And so, this may not ever get into sort of the, the real, real short odds type of, situation that you usually see for the second overall pick.
So lean Bailey, but, wouldn't really stake it very aggressively.
