Fantasy Week 13 must-sit picks: Jared Goff, Rico Dowdle, Aaron Jones
USAT's Joe Rivera and Jacob Camenker explain why Jared Goff, Rico Dowdle, and Aaron Jones should sit in Week 13 fantasy lineups.

All right, Jacob, let's roll into your must-sees now.
And quarterback Jared Goff playing the Packers on Thanksgiving.
You're not high on Jared Goff.
Somebody's got to steer that offense.
Right?
Why, why are we sitting Jared Goff?
Thanksgiving?
Yeah, I know it sounds a bit weird, But the Packers' defense has been very good this year.
And we saw Jared Goff struggle against them in Week One.
He threw a lot of checkdowns in the game.
It felt like Jamir Gibbs caught them, Like, I think 10 passes in that game, theyre all right at the line of scrimmage.
So, Goff wasn't able to move the ball downfield He averaged, I believe a season low, about 5.8 yards per attempt.
And if he's limited to that sort of similar production, where he's getting 225 passing yards And a garbage-time touchdown, it's not gonna be enough to make him a starter-worthy player.
Fantasy this week.
And, you know, the Packers.
When you look at the stats, too, it backs up what you see with the eye test.
They have a very good defense, very stingy against the pass, They've allowed only 13 passing touchdowns to quarterbacks this season.
It's tied for seventh place.
Fewest in the league.
So, as much as I want to back the Lions on Thanksgiving to get a little revenge Packers, I just don't know that it's going to come via the hands of Jared Goff.
I think he's going to have an OK day, but not one that youre going to look at from a fantasy Perspective and say, Hey, this is great.
Alright, Jacob, let's move to Carolina and running back Rico Dowdell has looked good Good season this year.
So, why is he sick this week?
Yeah, so this is becoming another match-up.
I really like to fade running backs in.
The Rams have been very good against the run this year.
And because their offense is so good, they often build big leads, and teams have to Kind of abandoned the run.
We saw that a bit with the Buccaneers.
Sunday night football this past week.
Uh, but beyond that, the Rams have only allowed three total touchdowns by running backs this year That's tied with the Patriots for the fewest in the league.
And on Monday Night Football, the Panthers kind of started to use Chuba Hubbard a bit More again on one of their plays.
Best drives of the game.
It was Hubbard who was out there instead of Dowd for really a majority of the drive, And Hubbard showed a bit more explosion, uh, than he has.
So I'm wondering if hes fully recovered from his calf injury, So this could turn back into more of a fifty-fifty split moving forward.
That's not to say that Dow is going to be bad, But because of that little shift, and this poor matchup, Makes me not want to trust him unless I have no other options.
Really.
All right.
Jacob, and the last on your must-sit list this week: Aaron Jones playing against defense.
Juggernauts, Seattle.
I mean, is that really it?
Is that the case for Aaron Jones sitting this week?
Yeah, theres two parts to this.
One, you nailed Seattles defense.
Unbelievable.
They've allowed the second fewest rushing yards Running backs this season, so that alone doesn't bode well for Jones.
The other part is that JJ McCarthy is in concussion protocol.
And we don't know if he'll play today.
JJ McCarthy has not played well this year.
Don't get me wrong, but the only option the Vikings have at that position now is Undrafted free agent Max Brosberg, whom we have not seen in extended NFL action this year.
Uh, you know, Broseberg did well enough to make the roster coming out of training camp.
So, like, props to him for that.
But, you know, You don't want an undrafted guy to get his first start on the road in a tough setting Against an elite-level defense.
So, if that happens, I'm going to have real concerns about the Vikings sustaining drives.
You know, Jones's ability to kind of get the ball from the quarterback into his hands Through the air.
So, I'm just kind of out on the Vikings this Week in general, uh, I will not be trusting Aaron Jones.
I might even send Justin Jefferson to one of my leagues, because he has not performed well.
That might be a spicy take, but I don't know.
We cannot trust JJ McCarthy, and I don't know Max Brosz in this matchup is gonna Be able to, you know, move the ball against a great Seattle defense.
