Flyers Have Chance To Swoop In For Former Top KHL Free Agent Target
If at first you don't succeed...

Now that, you know, they've been active so early here in the off-season, what do you think Danny Briere's next positional target is gonna be this off-season?
Maybe not necessarily a particular player, but what position do you think he's gonna be looking to upgrade?
A- and if so, are there any players that kinda come to mind, at least on the free agent market, who could be good fits here?
Yeah, I think you have to start the conversation at center.
they have a lot of good depth centers, Dvorak, Cates, Couturier now.
Zegras may or may not be a center.
you know, it doesn't seem like they're decided yet if, if he's gonna stay a center or if he's gonna play wing.
Maybe he's just gonna go back and forth between both.
But I think the conversation starts there.
I think someone like Mason McTavish makes a lot of sense.
the Flyers in the past have really gone up for these, I guess, buy low is the way to put it.
Buy low, you know, both in free agency and with trades.
Zegras is one.
Ryan Poehling was one, and they turned him into Zegras.
Sean Walker with the Provorov trade when Briere first took over.
Jurczek is another one, David Jurczek.
So the Flyers like to do these, these buy low moves, and I think, like, someone like Mason McTavish would be that.
I mean, terrible season for him.
not entirely his fault because also Quenneville didn't give him the same opportunity he was given, you know, just because of, you know, his physical traits and, you know, not being a fast guy.
Which, you know, could be the same with Tockett, we don't know.
but he's someone I, I would look at there.
I mean, defense too, they've made it public knowledge that they would like to upgrade on defense.
I don't think Simon Benoit is, um- Yes the upgrade on defense.
the way I look at that, with the Wal trade was Benoit's more or less the replacement for Noah Juulsen, but he's a, a left shot and Juulsen was a right shot.
So now on the right you can, you can put in a David Jurczek or an Oliver Bonk if they earn the spot, and then you don't have to worry about having a right shot veteran who needs to play when you can play those guys and your veteran's on the left side.
I don't know.
Darnell Nurse may or may not, you know, be the upgrade.
Perfectly fine, like, number four or number five.
You know, his responsibility in Edmonton is way too great.
His contract is way too big.
those are gonna be the sticking points in any kind of trade.
yeah, I, I think the Flyers would like to get a center, a defenseman with some experience, an upgrade, but it's not gonna cost them too much.
Center I think they would like to go on the younger side of that.
You know, Darnell Nurse is in his 30s.
But someone like McTavish I think would be their kind of preference to start with.
