Not a chance.

I mean, because right now they don't know what he is.

I mean, there was talk about him possibly being traded in the off-season, and that really didn't come to fruition.

I think the uncertainty of how good he is and how good he will be would prevent them from taking the risk of signing him to an eight-year extension, unless it's something like the eight-year extension that just got signed, where it's a $4 million AAV, and I don't think he's gonna do that.

He's gonna You know, if he was gonna sign an eight-year extension, you'd have to pay him probably close to what Demidov got from the Canadians, and I don't see that happening.

So I think no, no to Mishkoff on an eight-year deal, and obviously no on the other players as well.

Well, I completely disagree there, Mike.

I, I think if there's any reason to sign him, it's because he had such a bad year.

And, you know, we'll say bad year knowing full well that this guy still scored 20 goals while firmly placed in Rick Tocchet's doghouse.

So, you know, eventually, you know, the coach and the player are gonna get along, or either coach is gone or player is gone.

But right now, you know, this is a sign him while his value is low.

And if you can get him on an eight-year deal, I would definitely do it.

I think the, the one thing is, you know, Mishkoff's probably not gonna wanna do it because he's like, "Are you kidding me?

Eight more years in Philadelphia- where I'm gonna be in the doghouse?

No, thank you."

Yeah, I, I don't see him signing a Ville Kohonen, Pierre Engvall type of seven or eight-year deal at 3 or 4 million.

Yeah.

He's gonna wanna get paid, and they're not gonna wanna pay him right now 'cause they don't know what he is.

So I, I think not a chance.

He's not gonna, he's not gonna go for the eight and they're not gonna go for the eight.
