I think he's playing next Thursday.

Did he look to you, as a guy who's ready to be the shortstop opening day for the Mets?

I was surprised, pleasantly surprised yesterday calling the game.

Francisco Lindor, I thought he might be a little bit timid, might not swing as hard, but he was just as aggressive as we have known Francisco Lindor to be.

We saw him almost hit a home run, and when you're in spring training, you get excited for things like that.

But the next at bat after he fouled that pitch off was a line drive to right field.

I also saw him dive to his left on a ball up the middle and land on that hand that was the surgery, repaired hand for the hamate bone and he, and he played right through it.

And I think we're all surprised that he, first of all, was in there yesterday, ahead of schedule, and then playing, swinging hard.

I didn't like the top hand coming off the bat a couple times, so something to look at, but I think there's no doubt in my mind he'll be there on opening day, starting.
