San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner sat down with Super Bowl Nation's Gina Kelly and offered thoughtful insight into the 49ers cu- culture, the arrival of Raheem Morris, and the development of some of San Francisco's key contributors in the twenty twenty-five season.
Starting off with his thoughts on Raheem Morris, while Warner didn't dive into specific schemes, his confidence in the hire was clear.
Warner emphasized to trust the process, trust the organization, that Kyle Shanahan remains the stabilizing force of this coaching staff, and anybody brought under him is set up to succeed.
Lessons that Warner learned while he's been sidelined with an injury this season is that he's seen how strong the 49ers culture really is.
One thing for Warner is that it's easy to believe in standards and accountability when everything is going well, but it's another thing entirely when the injuries start piling up and players are asked to step into significant roles with little margin for error.
Despite these challenges, the 49ers found a way to win, which reinforces Warner's belief that the 49ers have one of the strongest cultures in the NFL.
He was asked what rookies stood out.
He said nickel cornerback Upton Stout was amazing.
He was competitive, tough, and ha- provided a football character, noting that while he's not the biggest player on the field, his effort and approach stand out on every snap.
He was also asked about his confidence in twenty twenty-five first-round draft pick for the 49ers, Mikael Williams.
Williams' background pr- at Georgia helped him prepare for the NFL, particularly in terms of technique and physicality.
As for being a pass rusher, Warner believes that's part of Williams' game, and he will continue to develop it, making him a well-rounded and impactful player moving forward.
Lastly, he closed out with an update on his rehab.
He said his rehab is going extremely well.
He's feeling like himself again after a difficult injury that incurred at an unfortunate moment.
He's thankful that the surgery went well, credited the medical staff for getting him back on track quickly, and made it clear that he's confident in where he stands physically as he looks ahead.
Warner's comments reinforce that the 49ers organization has strong leadership, belief in the locker room, and optimism about both the present and the future of the defense.
