Video Transcript
Connecticut Sun and the Indiana Fever on a beautiful night in the Midwest.
Caitlin Clark of the Fever had a 35-point blowout win against the Sun just over a month ago, but it would be a different story on this night, at least early.
Here's Diamond Miller, goes with the reversal on the lay in.
Forget about the Sun having the second worst record in the league coming into play.
They were ready to go tonight.
Nell Angloma on the drive.
Nice little stop and finish off the window on the fast break.
And what a start for Connecticut, doubling up Indiana early with a 12-point margin.
Caitlin Clark and the Fever, you expected them to come back, and they would.
Step back, that's a triple.
Pure for Clark.
Fever had actually lost two of their last three games coming in.
Still in the mix for a top four seed entering play tonight.
That big run sparked by Clark would continue into the second quarter when Kelsey Mitchell ties it up.
And just like that, we're knotted up at 36, erasing the double digit deficit.
And the run would only get worse from there for the Sun as they turn it over.
Lexie Hall, the steal.
Here's Mitchell behind the back pass.
Great team basketball for Indiana.
Michaela Timpson lays it in.
She had 10 points, eight rebounds.
What a second quarter for the Fever.
They outscore Connecticut 39-15, go from down 12 to up by 15 at the break.
Clark going to work, putting on a show from the mid-range, in absolute control all night.
34 points, 12 assists, drilled six triples, and the Fever were pulling away.
Could Connecticut come up with another big run of their own?
Aaliyah Edwards, nice post position.
That's a pretty fadeaway.
12 points for Edwards.
The lead though was 16 for Indiana, and the Fever would continue to put the clamps down on D despite that brief run by Connecticut.
Here it's Aliyah Boston, already had two blocks on the night, make it three.
That's Haley Van Lith.
No way to get that three-point shot off.
A shot clock violation.
Boston had 14 points, three blocks.
Kelsey Mitchell from long range, not one Fever player with 34 points, but two.
Mitchell had 34 as well as the Fever roll 111-91.
