One year deal with the Steelers, but what else do you want to tell us about the development for Aaron Rodgers over the weekend ?

Aaron Rodgers' career, Jamie, continues.

It began when Herm Edwards wasn't even coaching the Chiefs yet.

He was still with the New York Jets back in 2005, but Aaron Rodgers still got some football left in him.

And look, I, I was there last year when he signed the one year deal and.

was there for minicamp.

He didn't show up till June at that point, uh, and I remember hearing in his voice the sound that this was going to be a farewell tour for him.

Now, if Mike McCarthy didn't get the job as the Steelers, maybe this thing turns out completely different, but he did, and here we are, finally, uh, as our Tom Pelliaro first reported, although I probably should say our Kyle Brandt first reported because he's been saying all along, is there anybody you know.

Who doesn't believe that Aaron Rodgers is going to be the quarterback of the Steelers in 2026?

Well, this one's finally done.

Uh, the financials, as Tom mentioned there as well, uh, in the 20s, up to 25 million.

Remember the Steelers put that unrestricted tender on him.

Didn't mean that he had to play at that number .

There was still some negotiating to be done.

Uh, Rodgers came into town a week ago and then was spotted apparently having ice.

Cream with a few of his teammates just the other night.

And then the deal finalized on Saturday.

Um, it's a crowded quarterback room with the Steelers now, and there's a possibility of whether it's Mason Rudolph or Will Howard, uh, it won't be Drew Aller who was just drafted, and, and frankly, Rodgers has talked about wanting to mentor a young quarterback, so there's another candidate for him.

Uh, as well in that room, but Rodgers and McCarthy back together in Pittsburgh.

He's officially there.

OTAs underway again, a month earlier than he showed up last year for Pittsburgh with a with a coach, excuse me, that he's extremely familiar with.

Fascinated to see how this is going to play out.
