Giants' Brian Burns Tore ACL and Meniscus, Surgery Set for Thursday

The Athletic reports that New York Giants pass rusher Brian Burns tore the lateral meniscus in his right knee along with his ACL. He will have surgery to repair both on Thursday at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Burns went down while rushing the passer early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 12-7 win over the Tennessee Titans at MetLife Stadium, and coach John Harbaugh confirmed the ACL tear Monday. Burns led the NFC with 16.5 sacks last season but had none this year, and the usual recovery runs nine to 12 months. Malik Nabers suffered a similar injury on Sept. 28 last season.
