how do you evaluate an inning like that when it kind of goes that way?
yeah, I mean, it happens.
sometimes balls get hit hard and they're right at people, so, just on me for not minimizing it.
How do you evaluate that one given what you were able to do after the first?

How do you evaluate as a whole given what you did after the first?
no, I mean, not good.
It's We lost the game, right?
And, put your team in the hole 5-0 in the first inning.
It's not very good.
It was a little bit different than, the Colorado start you had.
Do you see any connection there?
no.
Colorado's was getting hit pretty hard.
this one was, like I said, some, some balls that, that fell and the rest of the time the balls didn't fall, so it's just kind of, like I said, just kind of the way That's why you love and hate this game, but it is still, I gotta, gotta be able to minimize it in the first and at least keep us in the game and, didn't do that.
Okamoto and, just threw a pitch that I probably shouldn't have.
You guys are 16 under and obviously almost got the whole kit.
What's, what's kind of the feeling after a game like this and, and where the season is overall?
I mean, the feeling's not very good.
just, just much harder.

just on a whole different topic, I'm sure you saw Verlander announced he's gonna retire- Yeah after this season.
Just a thought or two about what it was like to be a teammate or just looking at his career and what it's meant?
yeah, I mean, he's one of the, I, I think one of the greatest pitchers of all time, especially in, in, you know, his generation and my generation.
And I was lucky enough to be a teammate of his and learn from him and, you know, get to I'm, I'm excited I get to see him, in Philadelphia and, yeah, I'm just, you know, hopefully get to kind of toast, give him a toast and, and cheers.
And, yeah, I mean, just like I said, one of the best, the way he has done his whole career and, you know, he's just a, he's a competitor.
He's, he's one of the best and he's a bulldog out there.
Do you still pull from what you learned from him?
Oh, yeah.

He's, I still text him all the time.
you know, I, I texted him recently, kinda knew that this was coming, unfortunately, but, you know, hopefully he gets back out there and gets healthy again and, can finish the season strong.
