Lot of big fancy words, to be honest with you.
but obviously I think the word you guys got was a lower back strain.
And, you know, in good spirits today.
I think I said at post-game, the one thing I told him was just pretty courageous effort to get through what we were trying to get through Roop, and Gresch kept checking in with him every inning, and he battled through that.
But, you know, nowhere close to moving around, full function today.
Is it gonna be more than the 10 days, you think?
I If, if I was to guess right now, I, I would say no.
but I do think it's a little bit of an awkward It's not, one distinct thing.
maybe by now with the We've, we've been running around on the field and doing meetings.
Maybe by now with some more discussions and reading all that stuff, there's a little bit more of a specific, we know exactly what's up.
But, but hopefully 10 days.
What stuff stood out to you about Cavanaugh and what you've learned about him?
Yeah, I mean, he's got good vibes to him for sure, and I, I think those guys are really happy, with how he's come along as a catcher.
One thing that's always either scrutinized or complimented back there is how you manage the game, and I know Grundy has talked about they've spent a lot of time with him, getting to implement the work he puts in.
He works his ass off preparation-wise according to those guys.
Getting to take advantage of that in the game, and then he's handled righties well, you know, at the plate.
And he moves around pretty good, too.
Haas probably is a little bit quicker, but kinda like Haas is a, is a athletic moving catcher and can run the bases a little bit.
You have Jeff in center and Verdugo in right.
Is that like an arrangement you might see more of moving forward?
I think so.
I mean, the one question I expected to hear was Ramos and, still not 100% sure.
But one way or another he'll be here this weekend.
We'll see if he's active or not.
so yeah, there'll be, there'll be some more When guys hit the ball out of the park like Bryce and Barracuda have, it, you know, presents a good problem to have where you're trying to arrange guys.
But I, I'm a big believer that Jung-ho has made some incredible catches in that corner this year, and on the road too, on this side of the field.
But he's also made some incredible catches in right center, and he's done it in center.
you know, I'm not so sure he's not just our well- most well-rounded outfielder at this point.
Will Ramos be active by Monday then?
I would I think at the latest.

you know, get through tonight's action and then I think at the latest.
Kind of a tough decision coming maybe?
Probably.
Probably a lot of, nothing clear-cut.
Probably a lot of debates on different scenarios.
Would Ramos in center be a consideration, or is that too- You know, all, all I've seen is highlights, which is definitely to his benefit.
you know, those other guys are someone to lean on w- days like today, I mean, seen Cavanaugh in, in Arizona and then also on video.
But, situations like that, good to rely on the people that have seen him the most.
And what, what do you see when you say he has good vibes?
What How do you judge that?
He, he was good with us.
I'm just curious how he was with you.
Yeah, just good presence and, hey, everybody's I, I like different personalities.
I like different backgrounds.
everybody's welcome around here as long as you're all for the team and, we do have a good group of guys in that category.
but just conversations and presence.
You get to having kids on recruiting visits and, you practice at sizing them up.
I don't know how good you can get at that.
No one's 100% accurate, but you get pretty quick to sizing somebody up with a meeting or how they answer a question or how they are.
And you know, he's, for today he's just been here, but in general seems like a show-me-what-to-do guy and, and I'll do it as best as I can and go full speed ahead, and good smile on his face.
He's a easy conversation.
Do you have Did you have a conversation with him in your, in your office when he got here today or- He, he came in the office- Yeah as most guys do.
Yeah.
But then we talked a little bit more by his locker.
He had to get set up and, you know, we weren't quite sure what the situation would be with Susac so it was a little bit of a holding pattern.
but a li- little bit more of a conversation in the weight room and by his locker.
And as you can imagine, he's excited to go, and he spurred on a good conversation in there in the hitters meeting about call up stories and things like that.
And it was all good until Schmitty ruined it all, but we'll leave that to, we'll leave that to just the players.
Did he have a great call up story?
Well, he wasn't afraid to brag about it, let's put it that way.
It w- it No, it was comedic, which was good because you're not a competitor if there's not a aftertaste from yesterday.
And you certainly gotta forge ahead no matter how you can, especially when you're You know what I mean?
Every team in the big leagues is good, but, everybody knows how, how these guys have done this year.
Kenny, you got three guys on this team who are having great years in KC, Jung-ho, and, Luis.
With the All-Star Game coming up, how would you go about making the case for all three of them to be on the All-Star Game, in the All-Star Game?
Well, I just think with Luis and Jungy, the easiest thing to do is point to the combination of the defense has been incredible.
a- and it's up to other people that have eyes on more teams than I do.
but I don't know how you can compare m- those two guys second and in the outfield, who's done better?
Maybe somebody's been equal to.
And then they're both in the hunt for a batting title, which is, you know, the holy grail of hitting, you know, other than hitting the most home runs.
And then with Schmitty, just no one else has done what he's done.
They just haven't.
Shortstop, second base, first base, third base, left field, DH, spot one through, I don't even know, seven or eight in the lineup.
so it's a All-Star group.
It's a group of individuals that are unique among unique people, and I think what he's done is as unique as it gets.
