Red Sox lose on Wednesday to the Tampa Bay Rays.
At this point, that's no longer the odd thing.
They're twenty-seven and thirty-nine, 12 games under for the first time since 2020.
What is odd is the disconnect and the miscommunication and the lack of transparency around the team's injury situations.
What is really going on with Garrett Crochet?
Garrett Crochet hasn't pitched in a Major League game since April.
Garrett Crochet was progressing nicely towards a return, suffered a setback that he said was minor.
The team has indicated that he's progressing nicely and closer return to throwing.
Crochet reportedly says on Wednesday, "No, it's actually much worse than we thought."
And now Correslo says, "It's my knowledge that he's doing well and progressing nicely."
So there's a disconnect with the Crochet status, just like there's a disconnect with the Roman Anthony status.
Roman Anthony left the game, I believe, on May 3rd.
It was expected to be no big deal.
He'd been stopped and started multiple times on the rehab train.
He's now not doing anything, and we are a month after we last saw Roman Anthony, and we don't really have a definitive timeline as to when he'll be back either.
So this issue of injury reporting is not a new one for the Red Sox, but it is a frustration for Red Sox fans as the team continues to struggle on the field.
