Denny Hamlin reflects on a rough Darlington finish but keeps his focus on the title after maintaining the championship lead.

Well, the lead shrinks for the number one seed on what looked like a wild night from our perspective.
How was it for you?
Yeah, just, certainly not the finish we were hoping for.
Good first couple of stages.
Just got where our car was actually the best, right before that wreck in stage three.
So it, you know, we certainly had made gains on it all day.
It was really good in the short run.
We got it good in the long run by the time that third stage came, but, never got to see it through.
I felt like I was looking at Iowa again, where you fought through the brakes, then you had to fight through the damage here.
Are you getting tired of having to drive race cars after they're damaged that are or, or not functioning well to, to prove you can do it?
Not really.
I mean, you know, it's a professional sport, so you gotta you know, you can't, can't have, you know, big mistakes and, you know, we just had a tough pit stop there that, you know, set us back from third to about 20th.
And once, once we got back there, you know, you're, you're with guys that are a little bit more aggressive and don't really care about the points or anything like that.
And so you just, sometimes you don't get cut a break, and that's, that's the way it goes.
How is your optimism from here for the championship?
I mean, we're still leading, so we gotta just, go to the next racetrack and execute at a high level and, start some practice and, you know, we'll, we'll do our best to execute a, a much better day next week than what we did this week.
You're still in the spot everybody else wishes they were.
