Video Transcript
Here we go, race fans, off of turn number four, the Ric Salem Memorial.
Officially, all systems go on the high banks of Belleville.
Petty ducks down low, tries to take the lead.
Danley works the high side.
Oh, lot of squi- lot of wigglers and wagglers at the back.
Joe, Whit Gastineau fell all the way to the tail.
Meanwhile, hole shot goes to Joey Danley on the top shelf.
Danley will take the opening lap as everyone scrounges for track position here in the early stages.
Now trouble for Gastineau early on, and he was one of the favorites.
Joey Danley, Kaylee Bryson, and keep your eyes on Benson, he's quick.
And they were four wide a little bit further back in the pack.
I believe that was Tyler Knight trying to make a move on the outside lane as Garrett Benson has worked his way into the number two spot.
A top five run here with the American Sprint Car Series back in June, and right now he is looking solid.
You want to circle this date.
You want to circle this date because Garrett Benson is a coming star.
Absolutely.
The driver out of Concordia, Missouri, looking, looking very promising here at the front.
Meanwhile, Justin Fifield going after Kaylee Bryson for the third spot.
Looks like a car is slow on the inside of turns three and four.
That is Danny Nicolai.
He is down with an issue.
That is back in 23rd position right now as a lot of tankers are starting to go to the outside lane for answers.
That's where the speed is, but the cushion continues to get built up around the top side.
Brandon Bosma trying to make a move on the bottom.
Oh, big hit of smoke there in turn number- Yeah in turn number two.
Bits, big smoke there.
I believe that was, I think, the 23F of Colton Fisher, and the caution's gonna be out.
Caution on the speedway as I believe the motor has expired on the Mi- on the, Hunt Brothers Racing number 23F.
Yeah, trouble there.
And this- Looked Danley had stretched it out, but now we're gonna bunch everything back up.
Yep, it was a 1.216 second advantage for Joey Danley.
And around here, that is a massive gap that has to be closed.
Here we go.
13 laps remaining here in the Ric Salem Memorial.
Joey Danley, he's been the early leader.
Does anyone have an answer?
Off of four, we're back in business here at the high banks.
Good start there again for Danley.
Kaylee Bryson trying to go down low.
Can she make that happen?
Bryson takes a look.
She sticks the nose wing ahead of Garrett Benson there.
They're side by side for the second spot as they head to three and four.
Bryson not enough room to throw a slider on Benson.
Benson will keep the silver medal spot as they cross the line.
Meanwhile, Brandon Bosma now looks at the low sides.
Justin Fifield was able to make his way around Kaylee Bryson for third.
Meanwhile, Jake Bo- Bubak was gonna side step Brandon Bosma.
That is for position number five on the speedway.
Bubak trying to force the hand, but Bosma not fooled.
And there goes Jake to the outside, which he used so well earlier tonight.
He's got a lot of room to make up.
This time around, we'll be halfway done here in the Ric Salem Memorial.
10 laps in, 10 laps to go.
It's been all Joey Danley, rocking one of those Meyers Racing engines between the frame rails on his number 14.
Meanwhile, a good battle for second as well as you indicated.
That's the battle.
Right now, however, that's all in Joey Danley's favor.
Right now, Bryson's starting to fade.
She is back into the seventh position.
She's got a three-car battle.
How about Whit Gastineau in the number two machine?
Where is he coming from?
Gastineau off the low side, I should say.
No, it's Stu Snyder, my mistake.
I thought Gastineau has worked his way back up, but no, Stu Snyder making his presence felt.
Actually, Gastineau is up there.
He's in ninth.
I thought I saw him.
A great rebound by Whit Gastineau.
Private battle between Fifield and Garrett Benson.
And Gastineau- Joey Danley still well out front.
Whit Gastineau, I gotta think he's gonna be the Hard Charger award winner in this one.
Gastineau, he started clear back in 13th, fell back to almost 23rd or 24th.
He has worked his way back to ninth as we now have four laps to go here, dear Pad.
Garrett Benson trying to do everything he can.
Like we said, finished in the top three here with the American Sprint Car Series and now trying to do a great job here in the Burt Coda Sports machine with the Rebels, as Jeremy Hewish makes a good move on Gastineau.
That's back for position, what's it, position number eight on the speedway.
So the white flag is out.
Final trip around.
Joey Danley, he has not put a foot wrong.
He'll take it into three for the 20th and final time, and he will finally add his name to the winners list with the Rebels here at the high banks.
Joey Danley, flawless victory.
He wins the Ric Salem Memorial.
Garrett Benson will be second.
Justin Fifield will come home third.
