Hurts will evolve playing style under OC Mannion
Kyle Dvorchak discusses reports that Eagles offensive coordinator Sean Mannion will implement a Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay style offense with quarterback Jalen Hurts leading the charge.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts reportedly will operate in more of a Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay style of offense under new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion in 2026.
I think this makes sense on various different levels.
The first and most obvious is that the entire league is moving towards more Shanny and McVay style offenses.
That's been happening for years since these guys were on the come-up and now are established as probably the two premier play callers in the NFL.
Second, Sean Mannion, the new offensive coordinator, does have his roots both as a player and in, in his career, short career as a coach, in the McVay-Shanahan style of offenses.
He started his career with the Rams and did eventually play under Sean McVay.
He later played or at least was a backup, playing time wasn't really much of what Sean Mannion was doing.
It was at least a backup or on the roster with Kevin O'Connell, also a McVay disciple.
And maybe third, and most importantly, the Eagles and Hurts specifically, they need more of this style of offense in their offense.
Last year, they ranked 31st in their rate of throws over the middle of the field.
Kyle Shanahan's 49ers ranked second.
These are the easy button throws, but you have to be willing to take them and willing to scheme up stuff over the middle of the field, and I think Hurts with all the arm strength and all the physical attributes he has, is no one would call him the fastest processor.
He needs someone who gets his receivers open for him, and he can hit those throws.
We haven't really seen that style of offense for Hurts in recent years, and I do think while he'll never be the best middle of the field thrower, 'cause he won't do it all that much, they should not be 31st in the rate of middle of the field, easy layup type throws.
Maybe they'll be average, maybe they'll be above average, but I do think in a make or break year for Jalen Hurts, a different offensive scheme makes it more likely to be a make year than a break year
