Boy, the bust-out season for Jack Cag Leone.
It took a while, Tom, like a real long time.
You know, everyone wanted him to come up last year and just scorch.
It didn't happen.
Didn't happen at the beginning of this season, but you could say from about May on, Cag Leone has delivered what we thought he would when he got drafted.
Unfortunately, his buddy Vinnie P did not have the same season that they thought he would, and so that's part of it.
Witt's injury is part of it.
The Royals' disastrous bullpen has been part of it.
But a shining light for Jack Cag Leone.
I'm, I'm gonna guess going into next season, next season, I, I think Jack Cag Leone's gonna be a very interesting player to watch in terms of his home run totals, his average totals.
Sometimes it just takes a while.
Young player finally clicking.
Yeah, and that, that's all it is.
He ju- it's not gonna happen over 50 plate appearances or 100 p- plate appearances.
It's gonna take a couple hundred plate appearances for him to finally get settled, finally get acclimated at the MLB level.
I wanted, I wanted to believe in the Royals this year.
I really did with Michael Garcia and Bobby Witt and Cag Leone and Vinnie P and, and Sal Perez.
Like, I wanted to believe that their offense was gonna be great, especially with them moving the fences in.
I was like, "Okay, we're gonna see some real run production out of the Royals."
The pitching was always gonna be an issue.
I was like, "Okay, the Royals are gonna be in a spot to truly compete for the wild card given the dynamic of the AL, the AL Central and the other teams around them."
And Cag Leone stepping up and leading the team was not something I expected given the fact that they had a bunch of other injuries.
But if they can be healthy, the Royals can be a super fun lineup next year.
That's just what it comes down to.
Stay healthy and you got power, you got speed, you got average.
They kinda check all the boxes that you want.
